SaW RIG 0g Solar Array Deployment Systems
Main features
The Saw RIG will be used to perform two phases of the solar array wings:
- Integration: the Saw Rig will have a central frame with hoisting winch.
- Deployment: solar wings test up to 4 panels (upgradable to reach Conf.3).
- Two system are independently and can be used in parallel on the same line (integration and deployment together – TBD the total SAW Rig length)
The deployment Saw RIG rails are composed by two rails in stainless steel with 5 longitudinal linear bearing for lateral displacement and each system is equipped with a carriage item with panel’s interface.
VLD and HLD products are suitable for instruments and satellite lifting into the clean room chambers.

Turnover Trolley
The Turnover Trolley is suitable for the integration of the space instruments. The Lower part is stable and allow the technician to work around the instrument. The baseplate can be rotated by the hand wheel and can be locked. A dumping system is foreseen on the shaft in order to achieve a smooth rotation.

Thermal & Anechoic Chamber MGSE
This MGSE is specifically designed to perform the Near Filed measuring of the SAR antenna panels, in Anechoic Chamber, during the Thermal Test. A dedicated Thermal Chamber is used in Anechoic Chamber.
The MGSE is radio frequency transparent
The Mechanical stability is studied to compensate the thermal behaviour of the materials.
The machine showed below, delivered in Argentina for SaoCom mission, has:

- 5 Degrees of Freedom,
